Real Madrid are taking on Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday in the Champions League without talismanic captain Sergio Ramos as he added to the club’s injury crisis.
The Spanish centre back reportedly asked boss Zinedine Zidane to substitute him during the weekend win over Levante.
And according to Football Espana, the 33-year-old is now a ‘major doubt’ for forthcoming games, with tests in the coming days looking to assess the damage.
The issue is not believed to be one that will sideline him for more than the midweek trip to Paris, should he fail to prove his fitness in the coming days.
Eder Militao or Nacho Fernandez are the likely candidates to replace Ramos in the starting line-up against PSG with suspension meaning he will watch on from the sidelines.
It was Militao who was introduced off the bench to replace Ramos in Saturday’s 3-2 home win over Levante.
Real Madrid looked shaky when Ramos departed on the hour mark with Levante fighting back to make it 3-2 with a nervy finish for the hosts.
