According to several reports, Atletico Madrid forward Alessio Cerci will join AC Milan on Monday in the swap deal involving striker Fernando Torres.
Cerci joined Atletico in the summer for a fee in the region of £13 million, after impressing for Torino in Serie A last season. However, he has failed to start a game since joining the La Liga champions and has been watching on from the bench for the majority of the season, with Diego Simeone not a fond admirer of his qualities.
Torres joined AC Milan on a permanent deal yesterday just three months into his two-year loan, but the signing is seen as a formality for the Spaniard to go join Atletico on an 18-month loan.
The deal will see Cerci come to the San Siro and he is expected to sign the paperwork on Monday, before officially being unveiled as an AC Milan player when the January transfer window opens.
