Suarez Edges Closer To Barca Deal

Suarez-bites-againTalks between Liverpool and Barcelona over the signing of Luis Suarez have gone well and he is closer to Camp Nou, reports in Spain say.

According to Spanish daily AS, Suarez has a verbal agreement to leave Liverpool for the Nou Camp.

Liverpool rejected Barcelona’s opening £60 million bid during talks yesterday between the clubs in London as they are holding out for £75 million and it is expected a fee of around £70 million will be agreed, possibly as early as next week.

A Barca delegation that included chief executive Antoni Rossich, Vice-president for sport Jordi Meistre and Raul Sanllehi, the club’s director of football met in London with a Liverpool representation that included managing director Ian Ayre.

A £70 million transfer fee is huge, even for a club the size of Barcelona, but with the sale of Alexis Sanchez to Arsenal and the sale of Cesc Fabregas to Chelsea, Barca will recoup most of Suarez’s transfer fee.
