Real Madrid Show Class In Beating The LA Galaxy

benzemaKarim Benzema scored a pair of second-half goals to lead Spanish soccer power Real Madrid to a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy on Thursday night.

Real Madrid was too talented for the Galaxy, as Ronaldo had multiple chances to score early in the match. A cross from DiMaria found Ronaldo in the sixth minute, and his shot hit crossbar and caromed away to safety.

Real Madrid had the vast majority of the scoring chances in the first half with Ronaldo having two more good chances in the 18th and 22nd minute.

Real Madrid finally converted one of their chances in the 15th minute when Isco’s long-ball fed a streaking Ronaldo and Di Maria scored from his cross.

Carlo Ancelotti brought on Benzema for Ronaldo at half-time and it took the French striker only six minutes to score and he took a pass from Isco and slipped the ball past Galaxy goalkeeper Brian Rowe.

Jose Villarreal pulled the Galaxy to 2-1 in the 63rd minute, but that was one of the few highlights for the Galaxy.

In the 74th minute Di Maria found Benzema in the 74th minute with a cross over the Galaxy defenders for the final goal of the match.

Real Madrid will now play Everton on Saturday at Dodger Stadium, the first soccer event in the history of Los Angeles’ 51-year-old baseball cathedral. The Galaxy will face Italy’s Juventus in the first game of the doubleheader.
