Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has been desperate to bring Brazilian star Neymar to the Santiago Bernabéu.
But despite having a €300+ million transfeer budget for this summer, it looks like Perez and Real Madrid will have to wait a little longer to get their number one target, after Neymar’s father refuted media reports that this son is ready to leave the French champions.
Neymar joined Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona in a world record €222m back in the summer of 2017 and has been linked with a return to Spain almost since he arrived in Paris.
“His contract at PSG is a lengthy one and we are not even at the end of the season second yet,” Neymar’s father told RMC Sport, as cited by Spanish media.
“The original contract is not even 50% done yet so everybody must relax because rumours will always exist in football.
“Every club would dream of signing a player like him but PSG fans should not be worried because Neymar does not want to leave the club.
“Neymar wants to stay in Paris and keep winning titles.”
