Despite the rumors of the possible Kaka transfer, Jose Mouinho went on to welcome Kaka back to the squad as we might be able to get a glimpse of the Brazilian in today’s match later today. Although the possibility of getting a chance to see Kaka in action today for Madrid is slim, Mourinho is hopefully that he will be able to play him as a late-sub. As for Gonzalo Higuain, Mourinho is disappointed in losing him for the remainder of the season but is confident his squad be able to adapt, Mourinho went on to say the following:
“Against Getafe, Kaka will not be a starter,” the ‘Special One’ affirmed in a pre-match press conference. He is a fantastic professional, who has worked incredibly hard with a trainer who has been close to him throughout the journey. When he returns, we will welcome him. There is no doubt Gonzalo will need to be operated. Some people had spoken about a recovery without surgery. Now, he has changed his mind and he will need to undergo an operation. It is a shame because Higuain is a fantastic person and we will lose him for the remainder of the season. Kaka was missing from our side for six months, and we were able to create a certain squad. Now, we must create another minus Higuain. The formation must adapt to the circumstances, and we must create an equilibrium knowing that we have many matches still to play. Certain players will need to provide cover in roles that are not their own, with another system of playing. For me, it is a new challenge with little time to teach it. Between now and our match in Lyon [against Lyon in the Champions League Round of 16], we will play 14 times.”
A possible solution for Real Madrid? Picking up a striker during the transfer window.
Although Karim Benzema has been showing some flashes of his once fancy ways, he isn’t as liable as some think. Madrid need a player of consistency and Higuain brought that to the table before his injury. If Los Blanco’s wish to compete against Barcelona, who destroyed them in their last meeting, Madrid need a striker who will be able to perform against some of the top clubs in the league and not just the lower tier.
Do you think Madrid will dip into the bank in order to bring in another striker? Will Kaka be able to impress the Madrid fans? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
