Luis Enrique has lauded the consistency of his side as they won back-to-back La Liga titles.
The Barca boss made it two championships in as many seasons at the Camp Nou after seeing off Granada 3-0 to edge Real Madrid by a single point.
And despite a recent blip in form, it was the consistency of winning games all season long that got Barca over the line, he said:
“We played very well over the full season, were many weeks on top of the table, and the most consistent team wins the title,” Luis Enrique claimed.
“I am very happy for all Barca fans, for our families and the club. People suffer a lot in some moments, and now we want to win another trophy next season.
“We set out at the start of the season to win all trophies, as nobody had ever done. Sometimes people think not winning one is a disaster. But we know how difficult it is to win trophies. We will celebrate this, we enjoy our team, and the style in which they play. In history just two teams have previously won consecutive doubles. We always put high objectives for ourselves – and we will keep doing that.”
“We have won six of the last eight titles – which shows the club has a winning mentality. We must value each title win, it is worth a lot.”
“At 0-0 there were risks in the game, but we wanted to attack down the wings, with players arriving to unbalance Granada. That way we got to 2-0. Then we could circulate the ball, and pressure our opponent. We dealt well with them at set-pieces. We are very happy.”
“I will remember the good moments, and the people who supported us in delicate moments, which the fans did. The supporters are with us, despite many things going on all around. So I would tell all fans to go out and enjoy this title.”
