Julen Lopetegui will select Keylor Navas to start in goal for Real Madrid in the Super Cup final, meaning €40 million goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will watch from the sidelines.
According to media reports, Navas was always going to play in Talinn, even if Los Blancos landed Courtois.
It means supporters who have made the six-hour trip to Estonia will be forced to wait even longer to see their latest big recruit in action.
Spanish outlet Cadena Cope claim the Belgian has not been registered with UEFA and must therefore watch his current and former clubs do battle from the stands.
Courtois travelled with the squad and even trained with his new team-mates at the A. Le Coq Arena on the eve of the match.
Navas took part in a small-sided match which was overseen by Lopetegui, but Courtois trained separately with goalkeeping coach Juan Canales alongside Luca Zidane and Andriy Lunin.
The Bernabeu faithful, however, could see their man in action this weekend when La Liga kicks off. Real Madrid welcome Getafe on Sunday evening.
