Real Madrid goal-keeper, Jerzy Dudek, will be out for 6 weeks after suffering a broken jaw in Madrid’s 4-0 victory against Auxerre on Wednesday. It was an unfortunate situation for Dudek as the 37-year old collided into an on-coming Roy Contout after clearing the ball from his feet.
Los Blanco’s trounced on Auxerre yeseterday after-noon and although the game was said “Not to be important for Real Madrid”, they did not take this game lightly. Looking to build their confidence up after their first lost of the season to rivals Barcelona, there is no question that a win here would have helped keep the players motivated. Although it was unfortunate for Dudek to suffer a broken jaw, Los Blanco’s have to be impressed with their overall performance.
A statement on Real Madrid’s official web-page read the following:
“Dudek is expected to miss approximately six weeks pending an assessment by a surgeon within the next 24 hours.”
Although back-up Antonia Adan was able to make his debut for Los Blanco’s, Dudek will be missing the next 6 weeks of action as he nurses his broken jaw. Tough news for Dudek as he was able to play his part in the Champions League against a tough Auxerre squad.
