After briefly topping the table earlier this month, the wheels have came off the Nerazzurri bandwagon after three consecutive defeats in all competitions. The Coppa Italia defeat in the Milan derby came after those against Udinese and Sassuolo in Serie A.
Luciano Spalletti’s side seem a bit tired, and it is essential that Inter freshens up the squad in January to ensure a top four finish this season.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport Piero Ausilio and Walter Sabatini have met representatives of Barcelona as they are interested in signing both Gerard Deulofeu and Aleix Vidal.
Barcelona are looking to trim their squad in the upcoming transfer window. The 23-year-old Deulofeu is familiar with Serie A after spending the second half of last season on loan with Milan.
According to a report in Diario Sport, the forward would join Inter on a two-year loan move with an option to buy at the end of the loan period.
Inter also want a loan move for the full-back Vidal, with Joao Cancelo possibly to return to Valencia with Inter unwilling to take up their purchase option. Vidal’s deal would be a a season-loan deal with option to buy.
What do you think of Deulofeu and Vidal? Are they really an improvement over who Inter currently have? I am not sure if either of them would start for Inter in January?
