Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez answered the questions of the club’s members at Sunday’s 2013 General Assembly, confirming that ‘Los Blancos’ will not be making any signings in the winter transfer window.
“We’re delighted with the current squad,” Pérez said. “We’re not going to sign anyone in January.”
The Madrid chief also discussed possible departures from the Santiago Bernabéu:
“We’ve bought a lot of players and some will have to leave.”
Meanwhile, Pérez also admitted:
“When I arrived [as president of the club] in 2000, there were players who weren’t getting paid.”
He was also asked about the redevelopment of the club’s stadium, declaring that the process will cost Madrid 400 million euros:
“We want to build a Bernabéu for the 21st century, and it will of course incur some debt.”
