Talks are said to be ongoing between Real Madrid and Monaco for the transfer of Ángel Di María who could quit the Bernabéu during the winter transfer window.
Di María’s buy-out clause stands is set at €200 million, but his sale could go through for a figure closer to €40 million. Monaco are believed to have already agreed terms with the player, including the length of the contract and the salary he will receive.
The midfielder is reported to be thrilled by the interest from Monaco, who currently sit third in Ligue 1, as he feels that he has a better chance of playing in next summer’s World Cup is he is playing every week in Monaco rather than sit on the bench in Madrid.
The deal will not include Monaco striker Radamel Falcao joining Real Madrid despite the Colombian striker being on Florentino Pérez’s wish list.
