With the new Primera Division season right around the corner, FC Twente striker -Bryan Ruiz- went on to state that he is interested in joining Spanish club Sevilla as a replacement if Luis Fabiano is expected to depart from the club.
Sevilla shown interest in the 24-year old as they went to say earlier in the week that if Fabiano were to leave the club, Ruiz will most likely be the man to replace him at the striker position as he is the clubs first-choice as their replacement. However, should Fabiano decide to stay at Sevilla ,like he stated earlier in the month after his deal with AC Millan or Manchester United didn’t go through, I don’t see Sevilla signing him before the season get’s underway.
Bryan Ruiz went on to say the following :
“I really like Sevilla’s option, I hope that this can be done. I want to play in Spain and Sevilla are one of the big teams. I prefer Spain to Italy and England and I hope that everything can be done in the coming days.”
With Sevilla already stating that they will most likely only be looking to sign Ruiz should Fabiano leave the club, Walter Moltermans (Ruiz’s Agent) went on to confirm Sevilla’s interest as he continued with the following to Spanish reporters Marca :
“I spoke with Sevilla sporting director Monchi and he told me that Bryan is their first choice. Sevilla’s interest in the player is massive and I’m sure they won’t regret signing him. I’ve got a very good relationship with Monchi, we speak the same language and I know that there wouldn’t be much to wait for. There could be updates in the next few hours…”
Bryan Ruiz was also picking up interest from Liverpool F.C. in the past as it was said that the EPL club were looking to make a bid for 12.5 million euros for the striker, but unfortunately the deal did not fall through. Now with Sevilla looking to make Ruiz their first-choice replacement for Fabiano, Ruiz just has to wait and see if Fabiano will be leaving the club or not.
Think Sevilla should try and sign Ruiz regardless what happens with Fabiano ? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
