Yerry Mina admits his move to Barcelona has given him ‘goosebumps’ after being officially unveiled on Saturday.
Mina completed his €11.8m transfer to Barca on Saturday and was presented in front of over 8,000 fans on Friday. Coincidentally, more Barcelona fans came to Mina’s unveiling than did to Coutinho’s. ,
“For me, it’s extraordinarily satisfying to be here,” began the Colombian.
“I’ve always worked hard and fought a lot to achieve this. I’ve always gone with my feet on the ground and eyes up to the sky.
“I’ come here to work hard, link up with the team and learn a lot from my teammates. I’ve always done that and I hope to succeed here.
“Barcelona are a great club and you can see it. I want to go step by step, get to know everything and learn from my teammates.
“I thank the fans for their reception, I’m super happy with it. I hope I can match it with my work.
“There was an agreement. I was calm, but when the opportunity arose, I didn’t think twice.
“I’m at the best club in the world and I’ll work hard to contribute and learn from them.
But the 23-year-old hasn’t just been welcomed by the fans, Mina also revealed what Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez did after he had signed.
In his press conference, the defender said:
“I’m extremely satisfied to be here and fulfil my dreams. I worked and struggled to chase this, always with the feet on the floor and the eyes staring at the sky, trying always to do my bit, learning and helping and now I hope to do it with this club, the best in the world.”
“I want to make history here with my team mates, the directors, the president, with all the employees of Barcelona and I hope to succeed here.”
“He’s (Lionel Messi) the best in the world to me, the first impression I had of him is that he’s very humble, I was on the bench and both Messi and Luis Suarez approached to me, that was special to me, all my respect to him.”
