Barcelona have been told they have not been allocated an away supporters’ section for the La Liga encounter with Atletico Madrid later this month.
Ernesto Valverde’s side head to the Spanish capital on Saturday, October 14 to take on Atletico at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Barcelona have announced that a ‘logistical error’ from Atletico has led to there being no away fans’ section for the fixture immediately after the international break.
Applications for the match have been cancelled as Atletico cannot supply the tickets previously offered at the newly-built stadium, though 62 members who already made a purchase are guaranteed to attend.
The timing of the news will raise more than a few eyebrows as the absence of any Barcelona fans comes just days after the Catalan club was obliged to play a La Liga match against Las Palmas at the Nou Camp behind closed doors amid political tensions on the streets.
