Barcelona‘ captain, Carles Puyol, can’t really hide his disappointment with Pep Guardiola’s decision not to continue coaching the Catalan next season, but the captain remain confident with his team’s future without Guardiola because they have a trustworthy replacement.

Puyol revealed his utmost trust towards Barca‘s new tactician next season, Tito Vilanova, who the captain believes is the perfect man to continue the Blaurgrana’s legacy.

Just when things are starting to look well for Valencia‘s young playmaker, Sergio Canales, another bad luck haunts him as the youngster is set to rest from the playing field for a long time again after picking up an injury against Atletico Madrid on Thursday.

Canales who was stretchered out early in the second half on that Europa League apparently had a new ligament injury on his right knee and according to the club’s doctor, Jordi Candel.

Just as it was predicted my many Spanish media, Pep Guardiola has officially confirmed his resignation from Barcelona which will be active by the end of this season, stating the reason was because of tiredness.

In place of the successful coach, Barca have also announced that Guardiola’s current assistant, Tito Vilanova, will take the job next summer, ending several speculation from the media that linked the Catalan with Marcelo Bielsa and Andre Villas-Boas.

Valencia‘s tactician, Unay Emerey was obviously disappointed with his team’s elimination from the Europa League by Atletico Madrid, but the Spaniard manly admitted that Diego Simeone’s squad were the better team in their two meetings.

Emery admitted that not being able to reach the final left a bitter taste for El Che but he urged his players to forget about Europa League and continue their focus in maintaining the third place spot at La Liga.

Athletic Bilbao managed to fulfill their ambition in reaching the Europa League final this season after successfully turning their 2-1 deficit in the first leg with a 3-1 victory over Portuguese representatives, Sporting Lisbon, at San Mames stadium.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side should be thanking their main striker, Fernando Llorente, for the success as the Spanish international was the one who netted in the decisive goal only two minutes from time.

Despite being in a lower league position than their opponent, Atletico Madrid, managed to show their superiority against Valencia in the Semifinal of Europa League as Diego Simeone’s side eliminated Unay Emery’s boys with two victories.

Having already taking a 4-2 lead in the first leg, Atletico picked up another victory at Mestalla thanks to a lovely striker from their young striker, Adrian Lopez, which simply ended the home team’s effort.

Real Madrid players were obviously devastated with their failure in the Champions League, but some of their stars are determined to get rid of the disappointment and set their focus back on the league.

Although securing the La Liga title looking like a formal job after their victory over Barcelona last week, but the Los Blancos stars, acknowledged that keeping the bitterness in their head could simply affected their performances in the remaining La Liga games.

Jose Mourinho faces disappointment again as his team once again failed advance from Champions League semifinal, this time after suffering a defeat during penalty shoot out against Bayern Munich.

The Portuguese coach refused to blame any of his players, especially those who failed to convert their spot kick as he believes that all of them have give their all in the match, adding that tiredness eventually played a big part on Madrid’s failure.

Real Madrid once again have to close their ambition in winning the Champions League, as Jose Mourinho’s squad dramatically eliminated by Baryern Munich at Santiago Bernebau.

The match ended in a 2-1 scoreline for Los Blancos, forcing a penalty shoot out which turned out to be hell for Madrid players as they missed all but one spot kick by Xabi Alonso.
