LLTO La Liga Matches of the Week

Athletic Bilbao-Barcelona

Bilbao had one of the hottest starts of any La Liga squad, but the squad has not proven that they can consistently score with only eleven goals on the year as a team.  Barcelona has a few guys that are not too far from that total including newly acquired forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic.  The giant Swede will be ruled out of this one with an injury though, so Barcelona will have to look to another great goal scorer which shouldn’t be a problem considering they have around fifteen of them on their roster.

Final Prediction: Barca 3-1

Osasuna-Valencia

Two of the hotter La Liga squads will face off in this battle.  Osasuna has been a surprise so far this year and the squad that usually lingers around the relegation zone has all but avoided the trap so far this season and are current in tenth place.  Osasuna is also enjoying a solid recent campaign of three wins, two draws, and one loss.  And Valencia has been arguably the hottest team in the league not named Barcelona with an eleven match unbeaten streak that dates back to September 23rd.  Most impressive the club has won seven out of those eleven matches.

Final Prediction: Valencia 2-1

Espanyol-Getafe

Espanyol looks to increase their point lead over Getafe in this match of middle of the pack squads.  Getafe has been any thing but impressive so far this season in road matches and has only won a single match and lost the other four.  Espanyol, on the other hand, have had mediocre results lately.  They haven’t won a match since the middle of October.  Getafe recently won their Copa del Rey match 2-0 so maybe that will be sign of what is to come, but I like Espanyol’s home field advantage.

Final Prediction: Espanyol 1-0
