It looks like Inter is set to miss out on Palmeiras starlet Gabriel Jesus, dubed the next Neymar, with Barcelona ready to swoop for the Brazilian.
Gabriel Jesus has proved to be a revelation for the Sao Paulo based club since making his debut in March 2015, and won the much coveted Best Newcomer award in the Brazilian Serie A.
This has led to mounting interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe, with Inter one of the sides looking to bolster their attacking options by purchasing the Palmeiras striker. It appears that their interest will come to nothing however, as Barcelona have an agreement in place, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Spanish champions are set to sign Gabriel Jesus for €24 million, a much lower rate than the €40 million buyout clause that Palmeiras demanded from Inter.
With 13 goals in 23 appearances across the Sao Paulo State Championship and Brazilian Serie A, the 19-year-old has already become the focal point of Verdão’s attack, despite his tender age.
Palmeiras currently sit second in the league, with Gabriel Jesus joint-fourth in the goalscoring chart after seven games.
